Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, then President Bush signed into law a provision for the cancellation of federal student loans for XXXX XXXX XXXX who made payments on time for ten years. I did everything I was supposed to do for that ten-year period and have continued to do so in order to take part in this loan cancellation program I am entitled to. In XX/XX/XXXX, I ed Navient to have my student loans canceled. I was told I didn’t have the correct loan so they would need to re-finance under a different loan and I would have to make payments for another ten years in order to take part in this. Since that time, they have taken as much as {$480.00} in one months ‘ interest. Their interest payments vary from month-to-month but are usually somewhere between {$150.00} and {$200.00} every month. The reason they want me to continue making payments is obvious. They are getting rich off of exorbitant interest payments. It’s obviously in their financial interest not to honor the loan cancellation program. I know that several lawsuits have been filed over this already and rightfully so. Hopefully, you will be able to make this right.
