Response Marketing Group – Consumer Complaint – August 15, 2018

Consumer Complaint Submission

Consumer Statement:

I’ve been scammed by a company in Utah that advertised on TV about a real estate program (SNAP FLIP) that could change one’s life.

Not only did it advertise you can use other people’s money to help make these deals, you didn’t need to be licensed. There was also a source of cash flow while you worked the business.

I was given coaching but not for step by step real deal to completion and to be safe in doing so. I had a second layer of charges to gain a software that would accelerate success by providing calculator, locating cash buyers and real estate brokers willing to work with investors (wholesalers), locate properties and more.

I was coached to do my own searching and heard how “others had no idea”. I was guaranteed if I put in 15 hours each week I would be successful and pay down debt quickly.

During those weeks I reminded my coach of a warranty that wasn’t being honored. At the last class came the admission that the software couldn’t be trusted. I tried to reach other trainers especially the one who sign the warranty without much success. I’ve found that Response Marketing Group is not Utah BBB approved. I’ve recently found that an employee rating their workplace at Response (on the glass door website). That employee was very clear in calling the programs a scam and also recognized that there is not emphasis on professionalism. I’ve been able to get such a small portion of my money back ($25K out of $55K) spent on the real estate program and nothing for the Interactive Traders.

All told $90K. I’ve gone into debt elimination with Actify but they don’t pay debt, negotiate to settle and have legal protection for disqualifying the debt. I’ve paid since Nov about $750.00 per month. I fear wage garnishments and would have been better off if I had stayed with Freedom Debt Relief.

Recently I’ve ed Alyssa Bradford of New Era. I’m hearing from Accredited if I give them the $15K I have that they can possibly get me out of debt in 3-6 mos.
I’m really scared to death and don’t know what is possible.

I’m trying to reach the New York Attorney General’s office because I’ve recently found the owner of Mansueto Ventures is the person the owns Response Marketing Group that is in more than one location. Your advice is appreciated.

Charlene Walkup (978)897-7058 Craigslist earlier this year had an article on how real estate investment groups recognized the predatory programs targeting seniors. I’ve been in with them and they have admitted that wholesaling isn’t a way to making a living.

I was upfront about not knowing anything about real estate and lived in a rural area and needed to make a living. I should not need to find anyone else to help me understand what to do. I also stated that I wanted to do wholesale.

I think that the focus is on renovation, however. The proof of purchase letter that I’ve produced isn’t recognized by real estate people I’ve found and the people I’ve ed aren’t receptive to investors (wholesalers). I’ve been told that they can find their own cash buyers and rehab people.

It’s not such a SNAP to FLIP.

Consumer Action Taken:

I’ve ed attorneys, attorney general offices in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I’ve ed the Better Business Bureau in Utah and the FTC. I’ve ed WBZ
for actions and NBC 10 Boston for consumers. I ed Response Marketing and talked to another trainer and was told I was lazy.

you need to the Securities and Exchange Commission for the State of UT and the licensing entity for Real Estate in the State of Utah. I attended one of their seminars and the woman who handled the investing portion told the attendees that she could get them a “better return for their money on investments.” She represented that she is securities licensed and she is not. She advised that the attendees would be doing options training (which is a complex trade wherein the investor can not only lose the money put in but more than that (i.e. his/her shirt) with their profits from flipping. If the SEC for the state of Utah does not take your case, file a federal complaint against the Utah SEC through the Federal SEC in writing, if you win, the award can be HUGE. I believe that this company may be tied to the LDS Church, so best to have your investigators in a neutral realm, as much as I like the Mormon Church. If the event was presented in your resident state, the Securities and Exchange Commission for your state and the Head of the Real Estate licensing board for your state and lodge two complaints IN WRITING. Also your local Police Department for the credit card fraud related to the promises and the materials provided. SAVE ALL OF YOUR MATERIALS AND DO NOT LEAVE THEM WITH ANY LAWYER OR REGULATOR (they may not give them back to you when you need them, so give them copies). Contact the Federal Regulator for Credit Card Fraud and give them a written report of the charges on your card. Contact your credit card company and dispute the charge as credit card fraud. Contact the three credit bureaus and have them suspend the charges on your credit and note the account with the police department case number.
