Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX I attempted to enter an income based loan rehabilitation program. I was told by the representative over the phone that I needed to submit a Financial Income Statement form, send proof of income, as well as a copy of the signed loan rehabilitation agreement. I completed the forms and submitted them via email and a payment was collected from me in the amount of {$5.00}. From XXXX XXXX – XXXX XXXX I made monthly payments in the amount of {$5.00}. I missed my XXXX payment and because of that in XXXX XXXX I made two payments. I was told that as part of the agreement after I completed the 10 payments my loans would be taken out of deferral. I made my payment in XXXX and due to my own fault I lost with the company. In XXXX of XXXX I made with the company with hopes of continuing or restarting the rehabilitation program. I was told that because I had never submitted a signed agreement that I was never actually enrolled in the program. So i was ” voluntarily ” making payments. I would never volunteer money ( no matter how small the amount ) if it was going to count for nothing. The representative I spoke with tried to explain that in XXXX XXXX they sent me a letter saying they never received the document, but from XXXX – XXXX during our monthly phone calls my designated point of never mentioned that I was missing this documents. He gladly just took my {$5.00} payment. There clearly was gross negligence on Reliant Capital ‘s part for not making me aware that they were missing any information. And pure ignorance on my behalf because I should have followed up. Moving forward I want to correct the issue.
