Consumer Complaint: I do not know if you can help me or not. I decided to say something after my mother was involved in a class actions suit and received a settlement for the same type of company. About ten years ago I signed up with a debt settlement company. I thing there name was XXXX XXXX. All I remember is that they took money every month and put it into an account at XXXX XXXX XXXX. They said they would settle my debt. I was told to have all my creditor ‘s them and they would handle everything. I paid a large sum every month and all I got was liens and a wage garnishment. When I told them I no longer wanted to work with them and wanted my money back that was being held in this account, I was told that the money was not refundable as it went to pay their fees.
